The battery nail tester penetrates the battery with a steel nail to test the safety performance of the battery. The battery is qualified if it does not catch fire or explode. The nail penetration test is carried out at a temperature of 20°C±5°C. The sample cell has a thermonuclear contact on the largest surface. Place the battery on the fumigation cabinet. Use a stainless steel nail with a diameter of 2-8mm to penetrate the center of the most protruding surface of the battery at a speed of 10mm/s-40mm/s and keep it for 5s.

Battery Nail Penetration Test Machine Features
- The wire is enclosed with a metal fire-proof cover. It is available to prevent the flame during the testing process.
- The lighting system is designed to observe the internal testing process.
- Nail Penetration/Crush Velocity with a controllable range of 10~80mm/s.
- Nail Penetration/Crush Force is controllable from 250N to 13KN.
- Wire hole provides a possibility to test internal temperature or air pressure. A vent hole with an air blower can discharge the exhaust air.
- The control system employs an independent control cabinet separated from the test chamber at 1-2 meters. So it can reduce the noise and improve safety.
